|Deputy Hansard and additional deputies responded to a call of a Home Invasion Robbery at 3067 Mapleshade Street, Deltona. Upon arrival deputies contacted V-1 Nesbitt in a neighbor’s yard. V-1 Nesbitt had obvious lacerations on his head and several burn marks on his body. V-1 Nesbitt stated at approximately 2200 hours he heard someone knocking on his front door so he responded and opened the door. Upon opening the door, Nesbitt observed four males wearing masks. Three of the suspects pointed a handgun at Nesbitt and ordered him back inside the residence. The suspects became violent and started hitting and punching Nesbitt. The suspects also burned Nesbitt with a metal object.
V-1 Nesbitt was transported to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial for treatment of his injuries.
Deputies searched the area with the assistance of Debary K-9 Officer Genao and his K9 partner but were unable to locate the suspects. On-Call CID, Inv. B. Howard and On-Call Crime Scene responded and assumed the investigation.
