Important SoundCloud
privacy policy update

We’re writing to let you know we will be making changes to the SoundCloud Privacy Policy as of May 17, 2017. You can now review the new Privacy Policy in advance of these changes.

What’s changing?

  • If you are a US user, your data will now be managed by our US entity, SoundCloud Inc. If you are a user from outside the US, your data will continue to be controlled by SoundCloud Ltd.
  • We will use your IP address at time of registration to determine whether you are a US user or not.
  • We may share your data with other companies within the SoundCloud group. If we do this, we will always ensure that all legal requirements are met.

If you continue to use your account on or after May 17th, 2017, this will mean you have agreed to the changes to our Privacy Policy. If you wish to object to the new Privacy Policy, you can do so now through May 16th, 2017 by emailing privacy@soundcloud.com. By objecting to the new Privacy Policy, we will unfortunately no longer be able to offer you access to your account and will have to close your account on May 17th, 2017.
