Deputies responded to the area of N. Nova Road and Hand Avenue to assist the Holly Hill Police Department with a fleeing vehicle being driven by D1 (HHPD case number 170002133). The fleeing vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on W. Granada Boulevard from N. Nova Road. Air One responded and subsequently located the fleeing vehicle abandoned in the rear parking lot of 700 W. Granada Boulevard. After an extensive search with the use of K-9 and Air One, D1 was not located. A short time later, a suspicious person call was dispatched at 725 W. Granada Boulevard. The suspicious person matched the description of D1. Sgt. Cochran and Sgt. Hattaway responded to the area and eventually spotted D1 in the Olive Grove apartment complex. K-9 Handler B. Whitson responded and deployed his K-9 partner Endo. After a short track, D1 was located hiding in a wooded area. D1 refused to comply with several direct orders given by Deputy B. Whitson. As a result, K-9 Endo apprehended D1 and D1 was taken into custody. D1 received medical treatment on scene and was turned over to the Holly Hill Police Department. The Watch Commander was notified.
