CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Non-Agenda – 15 minutes)
Several citizens spoke regarding their concerns on the Yorktowne Blvd.
extension. Those citizens included Thad Crowe, Jerry Harris, Eric West, David
Hartgrove, Don White, and Dawn McGowan.
Ted Noftall, citizen, expressed his concern regarding DUI checkpoints. He doesn’t
believe the DUI checkpoint scheduled for July 20, 2018 should be held.
John Macaluso, Chairman of the Port Orange Environmental Advisory Board,
addressed Council regarding the Board’s position on the Yorktowne Blvd. extension
project. The Board did not and does not endorse the lawsuit filed by the Sweetwater
Coalition and Derek LaMontagne.
Shawn Collins, Sweetwater Coalition Representative, spoke regarding the lawsuit
pertaining to the Yorktowne Blvd. extension project. He asked Council to review the
project and make sure there is the least amount of impact as possible.
Greg Gimbert, Daytona Beach citizen, spoke regarding his concerns on the DUI
checkpoints.
Susan Maenner, citizen, asked what the status is regarding the property at Williamson
Blvd and Willow Run??/Madeline.
Margie Padgett, citizen, discussed her concerns regarding the proposed tax increase of
18.7%
